John H. Barnet, AM
Principal

Mr. John H. Barnet serves as a financial advisor to CFO’s, CEO’s, business owners, attorneys, and other clients on business plans, appraisals, and transactions. He has prepared business appraisals for venture funded companies, for privately held companies, and for attorneys in responding to inquires on business valuations from the Internal Revenue Service. He has also served as an expert witness.
Prior to his consulting activities, John served as an operational controller for Fairchild Semiconductor responsible for all manufacturing accounting throughout the world; group financial vice president for Teledyne, Inc. (a conglomerate with revenues of $5 billion); vice president, finance and CFO for Signetics Corp. (A merchant semiconductor company with revenues of $700 million owned by N.V. Philips Gmbh); and executive vice president, finance and CFO for Trimble Navigation Ltd. (TRMB).
He also has served as consultant, interim financial vice president, and vice president of finance for emerging growth companies two of which he served as CFO through initial public offerings.
In the banking sector, he was the founding director for Bank of America’s private bank in Palo Alto, California reporting directly to a vice chairman of the bank. In this capacity, he had the authority to approve loans on his signature up to $10 million to individuals and their businesses.
He has also served as an advisor for emerging technologies to McKay Shields Financial Corporation, a pension fund manager with over $5 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Barnet has a BS degree from Stanford University, an MBA degree from Columbia University, and was a participant in an advanced financial management program at Harvard University Graduate Business School.
He is currently a member of Financial Executives International and is an accredited member of the American Society of Appraisers currently serving on the Northern California/Nevada board as the chairman for business valuations. He has been a Certified Management Accountant with the American Society of Certified Management Accountants, and received a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the University of California.

Margaret Johns
Margaret Johns is a high technology, capital markets executive with a career spanning 20 years in investment banking and venture capital. She has raised over $3 billion for technology companies in over 100 IPO's, over 45 mergers & acquisitions and 15 private placements.
Ms. Johns is the founder of BLP Advisors, LLC, an investment bank focused on mergers & acquisitions, private placements and other financial advisory services in the technology sector. Ms. Johns is registered representative with FINRA in Series 7, 24, 28, 63 and 79. BLP Advisors is a member of FINRA and the SIPC.
Previously, Ms. Johns was an employee-founder of Needham & Company, a venture capitalist at Harrison Capital (Texaco), and an engineer at Sandia National Laboratories.
Ms. Johns holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a MS in engineering from Stanford University and BS in engineering from Columbia.

Bill Lapworth
Bill Lapworth provides senior level support within BARNET ASSOCIATES Business Valuations. Focusing primarily on growth-stage companies, ranging from startups to middle-market public entities, Bill has developed particular expertise in business analytics. He has more than 25 years of management experience in high technology and financial service businesses. Bill currently serves as CFO of CoaguSense, Inc., an early stage medical device company. He was recently CFO of First Virtual Group, a diversified private holding company operating 50 businesses with more than $1.5 billion in net assets. Previous CFO positions include Fiberstars, Omega Performance, Cunningham Communication, and Standard Engineering Data Company.
He has taken one company public and has been instrumental in positioning others for exit via acquisition. As an independent consultant, he has worked with public software companies on diverse projects, including acquisitions and Sarbanes Oxley implementations.
Bill holds an MBA degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA in Accounting from Duke University, magna cum laude. Bill earned his CPA certification at Price Waterhouse. He sits on the Board of Directors of the CFO Network and is an active member of Financial Executives International, recently serving as President of the Silicon Valley Chapter.

Pam Barnet
Pam is the lead architect and developer for Barnet Associates LLC’s technical and client delivery solutions. She has been developing applications since 1992.
Pam’s experience consists of user interface applications, back end database design, reporting interface implementation, Crystal Report design, Flash projects, Authorware applications, website development, ecommerce, and web applications. Pam also designs graphic layout templates and advises on interface design.
Pam has also developed training programs for the classroom and the web and has written numerous software user manuals. Pam has been a classroom instructor for corporations since 1997 and has taught in many different venues throughout the U.S. as well as online in the effective use of high technology software products and presentation skills.
Pam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Colorado State University.

Peter Palm
Peter provides support for documenting economic information, examining markets and competition, and identifying comparable companies for valuation. He is an experienced marketing manager with more than 25 years of strategic and product marketing experience in high technology businesses, including Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and Sun Microsystems, as well as management in startup and growth-stage companies. Most recently he consulted to Cisco and Sun as a consulting partner of Crimson Consulting.
Peter has marketing and engineering experience in both hardware and software businesses, including market development of new third-party solution partners and new sales channels. His market expertise includes network and grid/utility computing, telecommunications, network applications services, and embedded OEM computing.
Peter holds an MBA degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.
