June 1, 2010 John H . Barnet was elected as Vice President for ASA Chapter 41 which represents all ASA disciplines for Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii. ASA is an international organization of appraisal professionals and others dedicated to the education, development and growth of the appraisal profession. ASA is the oldest and only major organization representing all disciplines of appraisal specialists, originating in 1936 and incorporating in 1952. On June 17, 2009 the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) International Board of Examiners has approved John H. Barnet as an Accredited Member (AM) for Business Valuation. The ASA designation of AM is recognition by the ASA of appraisal knowledge and years of experience as a business valuation specialist. In making the announcement, John commented, "Barnet Associates Business Valuations has consistently adhered to the standards of the ASA.
